Functional Medicine
Functional medicine is a patient-centered approach to health that focuses on identifying and addressing underlying contributors to symptoms, rather than solely managing them. It considers the whole person, including physical, mental, emotional, and lifestyle factors that influence overall well-being.
Functional medicine may be beneficial for individuals experiencing concerns related to digestion, energy levels, stress, metabolic health, weight management, and overall wellness. When appropriate, certain laboratory tests or assessments may be used to provide additional insights into those areas. Recommendations are made based on individual needs and in accordance with applicable scope of practice.
Care is personalized and may take into account a patient's health history, nutrition, fitness, sleep patterns, stress levels, and environmental factors that can affect health. Care plans may include individualized nutrition guidance, lifestyle modifications, and supplementation aimed at supporting normal physiological function and promoting long-term health, helping you take an active role in your well-being.
Telehealth is offered in California.

Nutrition Response Testing®
Nutrition Response Testing® is a non-invasive method used to evaluate how the body may respond to current nutritional deficiencies and imbalances through the assessment of neurological reflexes. This approach is based on the concept that the body has a complex communication pathway via the nervous system that may reflect areas of physiological stress or imbalance.
Using Nutrition Response Testing®, we identify areas where the body may benefit from additional nutritional support and create a personalized wellness program. This may include whole food supplements, herbs, dietary modifications, and lifestyle recommendations tailored to individual needs. In some cases, food sensitivities, environmental exposures, and immune challenges may be considered as part of a comprehensive wellness evaluation.
Nutrition Response Testing® was developed by Dr. Freddie Ulan, Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) and is used by hundreds of practitioners across the United States and Canada as a tool to support customized nutrition planning. It is not used to diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions.

Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care focuses on diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal conditions, with particular attention to spinal alignment and joint function. One key concept in chiropractic is the subluxation, which refers to a joint, often in the spine, that is not moving or functioning properly.
Subluxations can develop from physical strain, repetitive movements, poor posture, or everyday stresses. When the joint is restricted and left untreated, it can put pressure on the surrounding nerves and may contribute to discomfort, reduced mobility, muscle tension, disc degeneration and arthritis.
Chiropractic adjustments involve the application of a gentle, precise, controlled force to a joint and surrounding soft tissues. The adjustment can help restore proper movement, reduce pain, relieve muscle spasms, and support overall function.
The goal of chiropractic care is to improve joint mechanics and support the body’s natural ability to heal and function effectively. By addressing movement restrictions and areas of dysfunction, treatment aims to enhance mobility, comfort, and overall quality of life.
